Our history
South Haven Group has its origins in 30 years’ experience in the Australian property market.
In 1986, brothers Ian and Gary Pratt established a private investment company to accumulate an A-Grade portfolio of commercial, residential and retail properties.
In 1989, they entered the retail property market with the purchase of a shopping centre in Queensland and took on the management of the property. In 1991, the company expanded into the commercial office investment market with an office building in Kew, Melbourne, which is now a flagship investment.
Further commercial investments followed. The business quickly became known for identifying potential in properties that others had neglected or overlooked and transforming them into rewarding spaces and experiences through careful selection, hands-on management and attention to detail.
The following years saw major growth and the integration of construction and maintenance within the company to its offering.
With the rebranding of the company to South Haven Group in 2015, the company is in a new phase of dynamic growth and exciting expansion.
Today, South Haven Group is building on its strong foundations and history of creating success to provide greater returns for the business and, for the first time, to external investors.
